Be Original (which stands for Bernadette Original) was started by Bernadette Swartz in 2015 when she desired to share her handmade jewellery and African clothing on an international platform. Within the first month of the business’s existence, products were already sent to Australia as clients were looking for some uniquely South African products. The concept of Be Original is Re-use & Re-Purpose; every piece of fabric is used to create a new product. Nothing is wasted and nothing is thrown away.
